The Aeneid: Lines 51-100

Writer's picture: occido teoccido te

A storm and we finally meet Aeneas! The description of the storm is something that inspires such awe, and is one of my favourite passages. The way the scansion supports the militaristic image of the winds escaping is nothing short of exhilarating and I especially love line 88: eripiunt subito nubes caelumqeue diemque.
